At Utility Installation Projects (UIP), we’re thrilled to announce that we’ve joined the WaterSafe scheme.
What Is The WaterSafe Scheme?
WaterSafe is a UK-wide register of approved plumbing businesses, created to ensure that consumers have easy access to qualified, competent, and trustworthy plumbers. Backed by all UK water suppliers, including Anglian Water, this scheme is designed to eliminate the uncertainty and risks associated with hiring a plumber.
By choosing a WaterSafe approved business like UIP, customers can be confident that their plumbing work will be carried out to the highest standards. Each business on the WaterSafe register has already met the stringent requirements of one of the seven Approved Contractors’ Schemes under WaterSafe. This includes well-regarded programs such as the Water Industry Approved Plumbers’ Scheme (WIAPS), the Association of Plumbing and Heating Contractors (APHC), and Anglian Water’s A Plus.
Why Should You Choose A WaterSafe Provider?
The answer is simple: safety, quality, and peace of mind. WaterSafe-approved businesses employ trained and knowledgeable professionals who are competent in Water Supply Regulations and Byelaws. This means that when you hire a WaterSafe plumber you’re getting a certified expert who will issue a compliance certificate upon completion of the work. This certification is your assurance that the work meets all regulatory standards and will protect you should any issues arise with your water company.
Additionally, all WaterSafe-approved businesses, including UIP, carry public liability insurance, adding another layer of security for customers. And if, for any reason, the work doesn’t meet the required standards, the WaterSafe customer commitments and redress procedures ensure that the issue will be rectified promptly and professionally.
Faulty plumbing work can lead to significant property damage and even water contamination, costing UK homeowners billions annually. Research shows that nearly a quarter of UK homeowners have fallen victim to rogue plumbers, with the average repair cost for substandard work being £426. With WaterSafe, these risks are greatly minimised, ensuring your property remains safe and your water supply remains uncontaminated.
