Hythe Tunnel, Colchester
This specialist project involved the removal of 3 x 33kV oil filled cables from a 20m deep shaft and 50m length underground tunnel.
Scaffolding was erected in the shafts and platforms installed around the tower structures facing the River Colne, Colchester for emergency access.
Our teams operated in a confined space to ACOP 8 standards with full harnesses and escape equipment. Utility Installation Projects acted as Principal Contractor for this project on behalf of EDF Energy
